This page details CPD packages available for Scottish Local Authorities outwith Glasgow City (NB. Glasgow schools are entitled to Free Super Tuesdays).

We believe that everyone is creative and that this is a key element in effective learning.  Our package of CPD offerings gives teaching staff in any setting and across the curriculum the confidence to enjoy using the arts as a tool for teaching and learning. 

These enjoyable sessions will see staff working alongside Citizens Learning and TAG practitioners, to develop a host of skills which can be put into action immediately to help deliver A Curriculum for Excellence.

FOR EARLY YEARS

1/ PRACTICAL STORYTELLING - Encourage your younger pupils to become storytellers and story actors using our fun, interactive techniques.  Guaranteed to nurture literacy and listening skills as well as build confidence.

FOR PRIMARY

2/ LEARNING THROUGH DOING DRAMA - conventions adaptable for use across the curriculum and age range. Guaranteed to engage and focus your pupils’ learning.

3/ EXPLORING THERESA BRESLIN’S ‘DIVIDED CITY’ - Tried and tested drama activities to bring this hugely popular Scottish novel to life in your classroom, exploring the characters, their story and the novel’s anti sectarian message.

4/ DEVELOPING LITERACY SKILLS - Boost your pupils’ confidence and inspire their enjoyment of writing and reading through a host of creative drama conventions.

FOR SECONDARY

5/ SHAKESPEARE OFF THE PAGE - Maximise your pupils’ understanding and enjoyment of The Bard. Get them speaking, acting and writing with confidence and verve!

ACROSS THE AGE RANGE

6/ DRAMA TECHNIQUES WITHIN ADDITIONAL SUPPORT NEEDS - Develop pupils’ self esteem, enhance communication skills and encourage personal development. Open to teachers working in mainstream education and ASN schools.
