International Celebration of Deaf Arts

Solar Bear take over the Citizens Theatre for two days to celebrate theatre and performance that is accessible to deaf and hearing participants and audiences.

WORKSHOPS

Thursday 24 September 10am – 5pm

Gerry Ramage, Artistic Director of Solar Bear will lead a drama workshop.

Russian company ANO Nedoslov will lead a workshop based on their own style physical of performance.

Jenny Sealey, Artistic Director Graeae Theatre Co. will lead a workshop on inclusive theatre.

Jennifer Bates, Deaf and Hearing Ensemble, will lead a discussion giving an introduction into The Ensemble’s process and playful ways of working.

Kind of Silence, – a free performance of this exciting new production from Solar Bear devised and directed by Danny Krass.

Friday 25 September 10am – 5pm

Caroline Parker, self confessed Sign Song Diva, will lead a sign song workshop.

Dr Oliver Searle will host a discussion on composing music for people with cochlear implants.

Jenny Sealey will lead a second session of her workshop from Thursday 24 September.

A Love Divided, a short film by Solar Bear Deaf Youth Theatre.

All workshops and A Love Divided and Kind of Silence are free, but places are limited.
