Aladdin has a Waash at the Baths

Learning

The Citizens Theatre is working in partnership with Glasgow Life and the Govanhill Baths Community Trust to create a new look at the story of Aladdin.

Drawing on people’s cultural references to this classic story, Aladdin has a Waash at the Baths will be a fun and festive hour of storytelling and song.

A writer will work with community groups in Govanhill over two weeks in November and December; drawing on their memories and exploring the cultural significance of the Aladdin story to people from different countries.

The project will culminate in two performances - for an invited audience - at the Govanhill Baths, Directed by Kate Black. The cast will be made up of volunteers including members of the YOUNG Co. and university students and acting graduates.
