Drama & Music at Kelbourne & Parkview
TAG
We have been working with staff and children at Kelbourne Park Primary school for young people with physical impairment and their neighbouring mainstream school, Parkview Primary. Sessions, which take place in both schools, see the children developing their skills in Drama and Music, building confidence and communication skills and most importantly, making new friends.
There will be 12 sessions overall, running from Autumn 2011 to Easter 2012.
“These sessions have a huge value in breaking down barriers between pupils from both schools. The children from Parkview can get to know the Kelbourne children as individuals, appreciate that they have opinions, sense of humour and that are just the same as, or as different as, any other pupil from their own class. The Kelbourne children can engage with mainstream children in a meaningful, supportive and positive environment, widening their experience and developing confidence.”
