Prices for every pocket
Everyone is welcome at the Citizens Theatre.
We want to ensure everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the magic of live performance.
Accessibility and affordability are values we care a lot about.
We have strived to ensure we offer ticket prices for all pockets and that we reward early booking and repeat visits. Our prices may increase with demand. You will always get the best price if you book early.
Our standard prices range from £12.50 to £45. The prices available for each show will vary. Once you start the booking process these will display clearly for each performance. We have two price bands to keep things simple.
Discounts
We offer a range of discounts on our full price tickets. All discounts are offered across all performances and apply to all seats – but are subject to availability.
First Look
First Look preview performances are a great way to see a show early in its run and benefit from 40% off top ticket prices.
Weekday Performances
If you can make it to a show during the week, you’ll save 20% off weekend prices.
Lucky Dip
These are available to book for each show at 50% off top prices. But you’ll need to be quick off the mark!
Lucky Dip seats are purchased in advance, but your seat will be allocated on the day. You will receive your e-ticket via email on the day of the performance. Maximum of two tickets per booking. Your seats could be anywhere in the auditorium and may not be together – but you might just get the best view in the house for a bargain!
Free memberships
We have a range of memberships that are free to sign up for. These provide discounted tickets and offers to key groups in our community. Each membership requires a straightforward sign-up process to access the discounts. No ID is required. You will only need to sign up once to continue accessing the discount with each booking. Terms and conditions are available for all memberships.

Capital Building Levy
£1.50 of every full price ticket is ringfenced for our Capital Building Fund. This is already included in the published ticket prices. Exclusions apply for low priced ticket offers including our Gorbals, Low Income, Access and U30’s membership passes. Other exclusions may also apply.
The redevelopment of the Citizens Theatre was a once-in-a-generation transformation of a historic building that has stood on Gorbals Street for over 140 years. The costs were significant and will continue to be borne by the theatre for several years to come. We appreciate tickets are already a big investment, especially if you visit us often. We don’t want to add additional charges. But this ringfenced levy contributes directly towards the long-term cost of the redevelopment and allows us to reopen after seven years of closure. It will ensure the Citz can continue to welcome audiences, artists and communities for another 100 years.
Development Fund
Published ticket prices also include a contribution of up to £2 per ticket that is directly reinvested into the operations of the Citizens Theatre.
