The Strikers: a work-in-progress reading
16 Jun 2026
Event details
As part of Assemble, we are hosting a number of Refugee Festival Scotland 2026 events.
The Strikers is a new play written by playwright and award-winning filmmaker Javad Daraei. The play explores labour, displacement, dignity, and resistance through stories shaped by lived experiences of survival and exile.
This event is delivered in partnership with U Belong Glasgow. It will include a work-in-progress reading of the play, performed by Sanjay Lago, followed by an open discussion with the audience to share feedback at this stage in the play’s development; creating space for reflection, dialogue, and shared understanding between refugee communities and the wider public.
