Accessible Performances

Our access performances are suitable for all.

They will be clearly labelled on event pages when booking your tickets.

Audio Described

Visually impaired audience members will receive audio descriptions directly to a headset. No changes are made to the performance itself.

BSL Interpreted

British Signed Language (BSL) interpreters will be present for deaf or hard-of-hearing patrons. They will be on stage and interpret the performers.

No changes are made to the performance itself.

Deaf Theatre Club

We run Deaf Theatre club nights for deaf or hard of hearing patrons on the same evening as our British Sign Language interpreted performances.  BSL trained staff will greet you on arrival and assist with ticket pick up and bar orders. A BSL interpreted introduction to the show will also be offered ahead of the performance to introduce the storyline and characters.

Captioned

Caption units display written captions throughout the performance. The actors words display on screen at the same time as they are spoken or sung. No changes are made to the performance itself.

Relaxed

Aimed at audience members who would benefit from a more relaxed theatre environment, including people with an autistic spectrum condition or additional sensory or communication needs. These performances may also suit younger audience members or those who might be visiting the theatre for the first time.

We aim to make the performance as inclusive as possible.

Adjustments will be made to the show and space including:

  • A relaxed and welcoming atmosphere
  • Adjustments to sound and lighting
  • The freedom to move around inside the auditorium
  • A quiet room you can visit at any point before, during or after the performance
  • Trained staff to help
  • A visual story is available to help you prepare for your visit ahead of time.
