Event details
Join us as we host a celebration of Giles Havergal.
Giles was Artistic Director of the Citizens Theatre from 1969 – 2003. He presided over one of the most celebrated periods in the theatre’s history, where, alongside his co-directors Robert David MacDonald and Philip Prowse, he ensured the Citz became a European creative powerhouse. This event will bring together friends, family, and collaborators from across the Scottish arts community to honour Giles’s legacy.
As we prepare to honour Giles Havergal’s legacy, we’re inviting you to share your memories and stories. Giles inspired countless artists and welcomed audiences with warmth. What was it like to rehearse or perform under Giles’ direction? How did Giles spark your creativity? Did you feel the magic of his welcome at the Citz? We’d love to hear how Giles made your theatre experience special. Complete this form to share your memories.
