Our Theatre Lab programme offers non-professional theatre enthusiasts year-round opportunities to gain insights into how theatre is made, and to build their skills in playful spaces. As well as our 6-10 week blocks of activity, we offer one-off deep dives into different parts of the theatre-making world. These are designed to ensure people who might not always be able to commit to longer terms offers, still have an opportunity to explore their passions.

Come and start the story you want to tell… Inspired by the Citizens Theatre first season back in our new building, where real life stories and events have been reimagined for our stages, this hands-on workshop invites participants to explore the personal and political stories they want to tell.

The session will offer the opportunity to work with Mariem Omari – from our Associate company Bijli – whose show Revolution Days is part of this season of work. Participants will be guided to plan, write, and share – exploring how real life experiences can be held safely, as well as how imagining ourselves beyond what’s real opens up engaging and playful ways of telling the stories we want to put into the world.
