Georgia Rose Lucas, in collaboration with Celtic Connections, presents a special 80th anniversary tribute to her mum, Sandy Denny: pioneer of British folk-rock and one of the UK’s finest ever singer-songwriters.

Sandy Denny’s haunting vocals have made Scottish ballads beloved, folk-rock anthems, while her own compositions have become standards of the modern trad song-book. Twice voted ‘Best British Female Singer’; lead singer of folk-rock trailblazing bands Fairport Convention and Fotheringay and, acclaimed solo artist. Sandy Denny’s best-loved song Who Knows Where the Time Goes has become a modern classic and her music has been covered by over 200 artists world-wide.

This special anniversary event honours the enduring legacy of an artist whose hauntingly soulful music continues to console, enchant and inspire. A heartfelt gift from a daughter to the mother she most knows through her sublime, ethereal music. An outstanding line-up of musicians come together to celebrate Sandy Denny’s immense influence on contemporary folk music and to explore the Celtic soul that lies at the heart of her singing, playing and songwriting style.

“Whether as singer or writer her voice speaks to us still with uncanny urgency’” Philip Ward
