Young Co. is a theatre company for 18-22 year olds. Launched in 2005, the company has performed in the National Theatre, London, Glasgow City Chambers and secondary schools across Glasgow; as well as its home in the Circle Studio of the Citizens Theatre. Young Co. have performed a very broad palette of work including Shakespeare, new writing, Goethe, devised performances, Scottish travellers tales and commissioned plays.
The company provides opportunities in acting, writing, directing and backstage work. Our year consists of a week-long Summer School which builds towards rehearsals for an Autumn performance week in the Circle Studio. In the Spring we run a season of workshops with guest theatre professionals.
Young Co. offers a unique insight into the world of professional theatre-making and the privilege of being part of the world renowned Citizens Theatre. With plenty of opportunities to see great theatre and often meet members of the cast and creative team. Plus there are always exciting unpredicted additional opportunities throughout the year.
