ON THE RIM OF THE WORLD
Scottish Premiere
The end of a day like any other. An ordinary family turn out the lights and put the cares of the day to bed. On the rim of the world and at the edge of the night, they travel beyond the everyday to an extraordinary land of dreams. An evocative journey with music inspired by memories of childhood, sleep and the magical power of dreaming.
Members of Scottish Opera’s Connect Company are joined by a cast of 50 from the Citizens Theatre’s acclaimed Community Performance Programme for adults and children. Accompanied by players from Scottish Opera’s Connect Orchestra- 15 young musicians from 16-21 years. On the Rim of the World was a collaborative commission by eight of the UK’s opera houses in 2007.

DR FERRET’S
BAD MEDICINE ROADSHOW
World Premiere
Look out sneaky, snotty and silly children everywhere!
Beware Dr Ferret and his gang! The doctor and his Sweetheart Singers are out to find out just how mischievous today’s children really are, as they sort the good eggs from the bad.
Dr Ferret’s Bad Medicine Roadshow is a brand new Scottish Opera commission. Inspired by Hilaire Belloc’s classic, Cautionary Tales, Dr Ferret tells the curious stories of Matilda, whose lies ignited a terrible fire, Henry King who ate too much string, and George, a little boy who causes a lot of trouble…
Members of Scottish Opera’s Connect Company – 20 young singers aged between 14 and 21 – perform this brand new adventure, accompanied by players from The Orchestra of Scottish Opera.
