Terminus
Visiting Company
Hold tight as the ordinary turns extraordinary in this exhilarating play by Mark O‘Rowe, writer of Howie the Rookie, Boy A and the cult film Intermission. Terminus is a breathtaking production from Ireland’s Abbey Theatre which picked up a Scotsman Fringe First Award in Edinburgh in 2008.
… we go, see the slo-mo ebb and flow; the mill, the babble, the rabble of wobbling waywards, exiled and aimless, unlike us as, purposeful and double-file, like kids on a dare, we head who the hell knows where?
Catapult from the bustling streets to the skies above Dublin, then plummet deep to the bowels of the earth as three people are ripped from their daily lives and thrown into a fantastical world of singing serial killers, avenging angels and love-sick demons.
Not for the faint of heart.

Incredible performances last night from all three players. I got a real sense of watching a living photo frame; broken and fractured...(and only break the illusion at the end when the performers take their bows, stepping out of the frame) the only interactions being the words, the stories themselves. An amazingly intense play lifted with brilliant Irish humour. O'Rowe has created a really masterful piece of writing here.

Took a group of four friends to this - one of them for her 60th birthday. Wasn't sure what to expect but what an amazing performance it turned out to be. Wonderful, inovative piece of writing and the cast were brilliant in their delivery of this wonderful work. A spellbinding and thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by all of our group.
