Crafting theatre in these dark times: a workshop for professional practitioners
10 June
Event details
Are you a theatre-maker looking to expand your practice? Across Assemble, we’re hosting several workshops aimed at supporting skills development for professional practitioners.
This workshop will be facilitated by Emile Saba (Ashtar Theatre, Palestine) and Julia Taudevin (Disaster Plan, Scotland). It will explore how artists can approach stories which hold political meaning that is oppositional to the dominant culture, why artists should keep telling those stories even when there is resistance to programming them, and what forms are open to practitioners to ensure those stories are as entertaining as they are relevant.
This workshop is organised and produced by Disaster Plan. It is aimed at mid and established theatre artists with a commitment to upholding Scotland’s rich legacy of making political theatre. Places are limited.
To apply to take part, please send an email to disaster.plan.tc@gmail.com saying why you should participate in no more than 3 sentences. Deadline 25 May
