Sarah Jane Morris: Where It Hurts
Visiting Company
The Communards’ singer tells her life story in words and music. This show was launched to critical acclaim at last year’s Edinburgh Festival.
Sarah Jane Morris’ one woman show is an intimate, autobiographical performance named after her recent album ‘Where It Hurts’. She reveals her life story from her father’s imprisonment when she was just 17 and becoming a political activist during the Thatcher years to having a number 1 hit with the Communards, running her own record label and marrying one of The Pogues.
She is accompanied by Tony Remy (guitarist for Annie Lennox) and Kevin Armstrong (guitarist for David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Paul McCartney).
“a heartfelt return for one of the UK’s best kept secret vocal talents on the scene”
